National Apricot Day
It's that time of year again! National Apricot Day gives you a bit of culinary sunshine to brighten your potentially dark winter. Apricots are called the world's most health fruit, packed with a variety of nutrients including 60% of your vitamin A and 25% of your vitamin C daily requirements. "Apricot" means "precious" in Latin, and indeed this fruit is a precious ingredient to many wonderful recipes. You can grill, poach, or boil these delights... or eat it raw!
Apricots started being grown over 4,000 years ago in China. Here in the US, 95% of our apricots come from California.
